To be honest, it shouldn't be a surprise that mobsters would contract work in prison to prison gangs like the AB, the Mafia isn't a prison gang, they're clearly outnumbered. It only makes sense to turn to the ones who actually run prison. I don't care how tough a guy is nobody is any match for 15 guys stomping you into the ground. Most "fights" in prison aren't really fights at all, it's jumpings and stompings.
