I admit I don't know and maybe only heard of a few of them from the 20's & 30's. Yet I have seen more of his films than I realized. I liked Strangers On A Train, Lifeboat, Suspicion, North By Northwest. I really liked Dial M For Murder and remaining my very favorite Psycho, The Birds and others. Oh, and Rear Window.. Didn't realize there was such a huge list of films of his that spanned so many decades. He was an odd character but likeable. I remember watching his tv show every Sunday night with the very familiar theme. Do you have a favorite Hitchcock film? http://www.mysterynet.com/hitchcock/filmography/

Thanks SB. It's a good detailed list. I saw Psycho not very long ago and missed seeing him for some reason. I've always have been a little skiddish with birds for some reason. I'll walk around pigeons downtown and simply don't like birds fluttering their wings too close to me. When I was in High School my best friend had a parakeet and one time it was loose when I went to her house. I ended up running out of the house til she put it in a cage. Years ago my brother was visiting me here in CA and we went to Universal Studios. We were sitting bleacher type chairs watching a program included in the tour (can't really remember exactly what show). It was a big area and the stage was a distance. Anyway, at the very end of the show they release tons of birds. All flying overhead. I started screaming and squirming as my dumb brother was cracking up. Everyone would ask me if it was because of the movie but it really wasn't. Yet, the movie does give me the chills. TIS

He was an odd character but likeable. I remember watching his tv show every Sunday night with the very familiar theme. These play now on the Encore Suspense channel. They're still unbelievably good. I like North by Northwest - tension from start to finish.

I like North by Northwest - tension from start to finish. I liked North By Northwest too but it's one that I haven't seen in years. Also, "The Man Who Knew Too Much" is one I saw way way back. I remember going to the movies to see his last film (I think) "Family Plot" with Bruce Dern. I don't think I've seen it since and I don't think they show it on tv much. TIS

HBO has aired a few times a remake of "Psycho" with Anne Hetcsh and Vince Vaughn. They follow the original practically to a tee, right down to the music. Nothing tops the original of course, and there is only one Norman Bates, but this actually was not a half bad remake. TIS
