There's a big, macho-type competition among hot sauce makers to produce the "hottest sauce on earth." Real "sauces" (that is, stuff that has flavorings beyond pure extract) routinely go past 300k Scovils, and the pure extracts are approaching a million Scovils. 234k Scovils, while plenty hot enough, is far from the "hottest sauce on earth." In fact, it is actually in the middle of the pack of really "hot" sauces you can buy now.
