A lot of guys in Philly were drunks. Like others above have stated Chuckie Merlino and Nick the Blade were drunks to the point that Scarfo wanted to kill them. Ironically after killing Vincent Falcone Scarfo got completely shitfaced

toward his later years, top Lucchese capo Vincenzo (Jimmy Doyle) Plumeri was becoming a lush. He let his boozing get in the way of his duties and persona. And he gained that rep. unfortunately

Eddie Falco, a captain in the Genovese family was a fall down drunk...I'm surprised they made him a captain

Marty Angelina, biggest fall down drunk you will ever see in your lifetime.

He’s downright nasty as fuck too, I’ve seen him carried out of bars here at the Shore and he abuses citizens who aren’t involved in the life including getting drunk and beating up women.

You won’t find a bigger drunk involved in the life than Marty! He only has his status because he’s Joeys #1 ass kisser and Joey has a lineup of ass kissers 5 miles long to kiss his ass but Marty is the biggest.

I seriously don’t think Marty is ever sober.

Listen most of the current Philly guys are drinkers in the sense that you will always see them out and about in South Philly and at the Shore here having a good time/drinking hanging with their family and crew except really George Borgesi , you will never see him out really at night galavanting around town drinking heavily like a lush.

I’ve even had a few beers and shots with Dom G. (The best , Aces of a person he bought me two beers & a shot I took with him) in the past in South Philly.

Mikey Lance was even a big drinker believe it or not before he got cancer (don’t know about now how much he drinks now after cancer) but he was quiet and would really only drink at his Jesters Clubhouse low key with his crew.

Most of the guys can handle their drinks, but no one is like Marty (drunk all day/night) and an out of control fall down nasty as fuck drunk who is a complete asshole. Stephen Sharkey is the only other one who comes even close to Marty’s drinking in the Philly crew but he’s obviously not straightened out or has status like Marty.

Colombo member/capo Nick (Jiggs) Forlano was a big boozer. so was soldier Jojo Vitacco, and a lot of other guys.

But there were many others who didn't drink but maybe one or two. Others like Sonny Franzese were tea-totalers 100%

Sonny not, but his sons loved la dolce vita.

John Jr.later turned out to be a drug and druggie. but his other rat son Michael didn't drink either.
