in my opinion George Anastasia, is to blame for this due to the fact that he made Alite, LEGIT, by writing a book with him.
Before Anastasia, Alite, really did not have much of an audience.
Anastasia is well known and respected.
Almost like a nobody doing a book with Jerry Capeci.
Hate to play devil's advocate but isn't Jerry Capeci collaborating with Dominick Montiglio for Murder Machine basically the same thing? Alite was in heavy with the boss's son. Montiglio was a gofer for his uncle who was only a capo. And IIRC, Gaggi kept his distance from Montiglio when it came to the real heavy stuff. Alite is obviously a bullshitter [so is Junior] but Montiglio lied about being a green beret so god knows what else he embellished.
