There was an Italian movie--a comedy with serious overtones--called "Mafioso" from 1962, directed by Alberto Lattuada and starting Alberto Sordi. I saw it only once, in '62, and have never been able to find it. I never forgot it because it was one of the greatest films I'd ever seen. The plot revolves around a Sicilian guy who'd emigrated to Milan, where he got a respectable job in the Alfa Romeo factory and worked his way up to manager; married a blond Northern Italian woman; had a couple of kids with her, and was making his first return, with wife and kids, to Sicily in many years. He gets involved with the local Mafia chief, who orders him on a far-fetched hit. The moral of the story was: once a Sicilian, always a Sicilian. Many riotous touches in this film, but it was strong and grim nonetheless.
If that's the film, Joe, JUMP ON IT!! Please post if it is.

well, plot is pretty wack, but some scenes are enjoyable and some of the actors are alright. i wouldnt rate it higher than 2/5 or 2.5/5

No, Ayrton, the one I was referring to was from 1962.
Joe Batters: Did you go to Blockbuster and check it out?

Yeah I went in there and they were all out, or they had them moved I asked one of the guys that worked there and he said all he knew was that it was called Mafioso....
I've been kicking myself in the ass for missing out if it was the one you were talking about.....but maybe they will get it in again or something...

Don't kick too hard--it's probably the one Ayrton referred to.

Look's interesting. I would've just passed it off had it not been for Turnbull's raving review.

I always hated finding movies like this on IMDB, so rare and obscure that I know I have little chance of ever finding them, but it'd be nice.

I dream in widescreen.
