Anyone else really exited about this film?, a remake of Internal Affairs, about the rivarly between Boston police officers and an Irish-American gang. I am really exited seeing as Martin Scorsese is directing and what with Leo DiCaprio as a police officer,Matt Damon as a gangster and Jack Nicholson as the Top dog, this could be one hell of a movie

I'm pissed Scorsese is remaking it but I'll give it a try.

Why would you be pissed that Scorsese is directing it?

Bart, Is it wrong to steal a loaf of bread to feed your starving family? No. Well suppose you got a large starving family, is it wrong to steal a truckload of bread to feed them? Uh-uh. And what if your family don't like bread, they like cigarettes? I guess thats ok. Now what if instead of giving them away, you sold them at a price that was practically giving them away. Would that be a crime Bart?

Actually Don Vercetti, I just watched INFERNAL AFFAIRS....and dammit, it was good!

Also dammit....I can totally see why the Scorsese would want to remake it for American shores.

Really, its not an open secret how many Asian filmmakers were highly influenced by Scorsese's films, especially his "gangster" films like MEAN STREETS, GOODFELLAS, CASINO, etc. John Woo, before he went off to Hollywood, was quoted as saying that Scorsese was his biggest influence, all while Woo, back when he was a cult god of a filmmaker with action classics like HARD BOILED and THE KILLER, was even called the "Martin Scorsese of Asian Cinema". My times have changed.

Now Scorsese remaking a film that does show some influence from Scorsese's movies.....its really eerie in the irony. It was like if Akira Kurosawa wanted remake Scorsese's MEAN STREETS for Japan or something like that, in order to compare with Scorsese's THE DEPARTED.

Anyway, I'm very much intrigued in THE DEPARTED now....absolutely more after seeing INFERNAL AFFAIRS. I think it could be a remake worth watching since it covers alot of ideas expressed in his films so ya, I can't wait.

Besides, it would be cool for film geeks like me to see JAAAAAAACK NICHOLSON act in a Scorsese-directed movie. I mean, am I not the only one?
