Guys this is in response to the double sided edition that has been available. Warner has already annouced it for there 2004 slate. well I'm not sure about the other Scorsese-movies, but the ones I have are not particulary famous for it's additional features of any kind, apart from a digital version of the movie.

The extra's on Gangs of New York are great but are almost all related to settings, costumeds, production design, music etc.

I really hope a special edition contributes something to what we already have. It will the first (and so far only) movie of my current collection I will be 'rebuying' if an improved version releases..

I haven't heard anything about this; nor could I find it on the sites. Can someone point it out to me?

Shit, thats sucks for me if it gets Re-released. I just bought it one VHS tonight

Irwin: Well, I just finished Life As A House, and I also just finished the commentary for the special edition of The Net (which streets on 4/2) and I just finished one for Goodfellas.

DVD Empire: Does that mean that we will finally see a special edition of Goodfellas? And is that something I'm allowed to say?

Irwin: You can say it, sure. I don't have any of the dates yet, but I've done my part and it will be coming out soon enough.

That's a good question. I wonder if Goodfellas will have a limited edition box set? I mean, I know the film did pretty well commercially and its got a huge cult following. So maybe?

so, since the Scarface anniversary edition was a deluxe box set, we all start assuming every special edition re-release is a box? Carlito's Way, Goodfellas, next thing you know we'll be asking for a Wizard of Oz special box...

I remember reading that HH was supposed to do a commentary for the new release of Goodfellas. I hope they manage to get Pesci for an interview as well.

Scorsese was willing to do a lot of behind the scene stuff for Gangs of New York, so I guess he's not the kind of guy that does not do anything for his movies (like some other famous moviestars/directors).


A "13 years ago"-interview with the principal cast members (Liotta DeNiro Pesci Bracco Sorvino) and filmmakers (Scorsese Winkler) and an audio commentary by someone connected to it would be great. But I doubt this will happen, unfortunately

Pesci... With the exception of Casino and Goodfellas I'm not a fan. He does well in Mob movies but when he tries to do stuff like home alone i think "what the fuck?"

I liked him in 8-heads in a duffel bag though. That movie was hilarious.

he saved the Lethal Weapon franchise from turning into a moneylosing sequelmachine

Pesci had a very small role at the end of A Bronx Tale as Carmine. I wish he would make another movie.
