I haven't seen these movies yet, but I am thinking of renting them. Can someone give me a really basic plot outline of each movie, and a rating out of 5, and what they thought of each?

That would be a huge help. Thanks.

On another note, I saw Serpico and Dog Day Afternoon the last two nights. I thought Serpico when it started had potential to be a great movie, with alot of cop action in it, and it would show the cop life, how they do drug busts etc, but after the 45 minute mark, I found it to be slow. Most exciting scene in the movie is at the end with that drug bust (also in that last scene is the actor who plays Omar Susswali from Scarface). 6 - 6.5 /10 for Serpico.

Dog Day Afternoon I thought was pretty good, it would have been better if the story hadn't a gotten fucked up with the sex change shit and all that homosexual stuff. I found it to be suspenceful and exciting. The end is good, you don't expect how it ends at all. 7-7.5/10

Carlitos way is a Great film I would give it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. As far as the plot: Carlito gets out of prison after 5 years and trys to go strait but everybody around him screws him over by getting him involved with there problems. Sean Penn is excellent as his cocaine addicted lawyer David Klienfeld. I like Donnie Brasco also butt not as much as Carlitos Way. It's about an undercover cop who infiltrates the Mafia and what happens when he gets to attached to his new friends/lifestyle...4 of 5 stars. Rent them both you wont be dissapointed.

Donnie Brasco is about a undercover cop played by Johnny Depp who's job is to get involved with organized crime. A mob guy played by Al Pacino takes him under his wing. As time goes on, Depp begins to get attached to the mob. It was a decent movie. 3 and a half stars out of five. Carlito's way is about a mob guy played by Pacino who gets out of prison and is determined to lead a legitimate life, but everybody keeps trying to drag him back into his old life. This was good, probably about 4 stars. And I got to wonder what you were thinking when you were watching Dog Day man. That frickin movie was great!!! 9/10 at least! But I do agree with you about Serpico.

i'm renting donnie brasco tomorrow when i purchase "goodfellas" and "carlito's way." "carlito's way" definetly kicked ass. 4.5/5 stars only because the shooting at the ending wasn't as good as it could've been like "scarface." i won't spoil it for you.

I think it overtook Scarface as the greatest ending ever, IMO. Perfectly directed and executed...sublime.

Hut Hut. You seriousely thought that Carlitos way was better than dog day afternoon. Come on. Carlitos Way was good, but dog day was a classic.

Its very close, they are both in my top 6 or 7 of all time, but Carlito's Way just does it for me.
Its got that certain magic to it, especially the ending.
