I bought the DVD Saturday and I am wondering....did I get the right one? The commentary said that it was more then what was in the theaters. They also said that it was 10 hours long Then cut to 6 hours, then to under four.

Oggie, this is very serious! DonV has three more minutes of footage than you! Take yours back, now!

On a more serious note, I think the 229 (or 226) minutes version is actually the uncut version. It's long enough, for me!

The DVD was the Internationaly relesed Version. Not the Uncut Version.

The 229 number is 3 minutes longer than 226. The 229 version is adding the credits!

The Full Canes Version was the Internationaly Seen Version. Not the uncut.

Remeber the sene with the frisbie? Where Noodles is walking with the suitcase full of money and he see's a Fisbee and it cuts back to te '20's?

To many it made no sense. The Uncut version might have Elaborated on htis more.

ALL movies have a lot of footage. OBVIOUSLY he had to cut it down to under 4 hours. That is as uncut as we are gonna get.

Don't forget that NTSC runs at 30 FPS and PAL only runs at 24.5 so that means that PAL versions of films are often slightly longer, and this is more evident in longer films, such as Once Upon A Time In America. Great film BTW.
