Not, a mob movie. I'm cognizant. But what are your thoughts, on the storyline, acting, cinematography, setting, and realism of this movie? Good or bad? Recommendable?

There was an older thread on the film that I started, couldn't find it though. Anywho, I thought Empire was great. The Storyline was sort of given away in the previews, but thought it was great. I liked the actors in the film, I didn't find any of the characters unconvincing. The cinematography was good, I thought it looked fine and the setting was in Harlem NY, I believe. I liked this movie and bought it on DVD. I like John Leguizamo too. I'd say check it out if you haven't.

I thought it was set in the Bronx... I think: I'm going to download it on Kazaa, which on my computer is suicide(56K modem.. How I envy you fucks with cable internet).. Regardless. I will be downloading. I believe.

Jimmy;is there much Spanish speaking in it?

I can only remember two scenes where they spoke Spanish. One scene was at a family get-together and the other i believe was when Victor Rosa (John Leguizamo)is talking to La Columbiana (Isabella Rossolini). Either that or she speaks spanish to her brother and then talks to Victor. I forget.

Ya know what? This movie was better than I expected, I actually eally really liked it. Leguizamo is a damn good actor. I had reservations about Empire at first case I didnt like the fact that Fat Joe guy was in it. F-in music stars always trying to make a movie. ANYHOO.lol. He gets all shot up in the first part of the film and it gets better and better until the SURPRISING end.

The Film does take place in the bronx. And It's about a Puerto Rican gang led by John Leguizamo. I thought the funniest character he played was the Evil Clown in Spawn

OKay, so the scene with Fat Joe and springing his secret shotgun was rather in the lame department...

you have to admit though fat joe goes out like a savage. HE DOESNT GET OUT OF HIS CHAIR THE WHOLE SCENE.

I liked it but I don't like Cartel/Gang movies that much. I think I was supossed to be Italian but god fucked up and made me black.
