Hey! The movie trailer looks great. But many people stated that while the sets were amazing, the script and the actors didn't pull it off.

I personally thought it was a great movie. But I wish it had a different ending. As for the acting Daniel Day Lewis aka The Buthcer was brilliant it's a shame he didn't win an oscar for his roll.

The Dragon's right Daniel Day-Lewis was robbed on Oscar night! I haven't seen The Pianist but Adrian Brody must have been damn near flawless to have put in a better performance than Day-Lewis. To answer your question Nick V. G.O.N.Y. is definitely worth checking out.

Yep, definitely worth checking out. A real spectacular, with lots of period detail. New twist for Scorsese. Day-Lewis's performance was world-beating. Leo wasn't bad.

I was irate when Daniel-Day Lewis, did not win the Oscar.. To me his performance as Bill The Butcher beat even Pacino's as Tony Montana.. My opinion could have been swayed, or affected the mood of the film, the wardrobe; and the setting. But; I could never picture anybody doing a better job.

I can't wait untill the movie comes out on VHS, since I don't have a DVD player.. Gangs Of New York Is possibly the most violent movie ever made. The opening scene possibly the most violent one ever made.

The details were accurate.. Scorsese is brilliant, and the acting, by all was: dazzling, but to me it was DDL, and Leo that carried the movie on their backs, though Cameron Diaz did a good job as well.

Tis my favorite movie.. Watch it. It's incredible. Bill The Butcher my favorite fictional invention; with more balls then the whole Corleone family put together.

I really did not enjoy this movie. It was nothing like I expected it to be. The only highlight in it for me was Cameron Diaz ~ she was a very interesting character and she did a great job acting. Leo was alright. I really didn't like Daniel Day Lewis' character at all ~ he was disgusting. The movie was also very boring to me.

Angela.

Read your first sentence, then read your last sentence.

How can you enjoy boredom? I am incessantly moving to avoid; unpleasantnesses.. At all times.

Why did the movie bore you?

Thanks for the opinions everyone

I myself find some films a bit boring but movies such as Godfather Part 1&3 are just to amazing. And they are like 3 hours each. Also Once Upon A Time in America is like 4 hours long. I still haven't seen it, but I think I will like it. Some of you are wondering why I haven't mentioned Godfather Part 2.... Well I didn't like it that much. But this is only my opinion. But every scene involving De Niro was a classic. He did deserve that Oscar. I think his scenes is what kept the movie together. Also there are some good scenes with Pacino, but most of the scenes with Pacino are boring. I do not hate the film, but I wish it were a bit shorter.

Some people watch a movie once and they do not like it. But by the time they watch the movie again they love it. I have only seen the Godfather Part 2 once. But when I watched Part 1&3, I loved it on my first viewing. I generally like to think that the first viewing is the "real opinion" of the viewer. I think some people want to like a film so much, they watch it constantly over and over and think they like it.

But this doesn't work for all films. Especially for Mr. Scorsese's films. His films require two viewing in order to understand the full potential of the film.

don't miss this Nick V. you should not miss Once Upon a Time in America if you're a De Niro fan. a very good and classic movie. a lot of twist in the story. . .

Watched it tonight. Excellent film. THe opening snow-laden scene is a master piece. The drumming, and thwen silence when the door opens. Scorsese is a genius. Give him a script about the history of aeroplanes and he'll make a compelling watch. Daniel-Day Lewis is excellent. The end is fantastic. Brilliant movie.
