thanks for the link Hot Head! this is one of De Niro's finest performance and a very good movie. Once Upon a Time in America is a movie every De Niro fan should have and its the longest movie i've seen. the film is so greatly done and the story is deep. btw, i liked the movie so much that i watched it two in a row. whew! that's almost 7 hours!
welcome to the Family Hot Head!

I just can't shut up about this movie. Its fuckin awesome! You said its slated for a U.S. release?
I got my dvd copy imported from Brazil which is the only country producing it on dvd for the time being. Everything is in portuguese but the movie was filmed in English. A U.S. version would be great. I always wondered why it wasn't available.

Yeah I found that out when researching the movie. There's a million different versions of the film. I remember the first time I saw it on A&E late at like 4:00 a.m. and it was the uncut version. Then not too long ago i saw it on the channel again, but it was the edited version. The edited version sucks because it takes alot of scenes that make the movie so intense.

i just got the e-mail notifaction about 5 minutes ago, and i had to post this. The Region 1 release of Once Upon A Time In America is fianlly here. It will be released on June 10 2003 amazon.com Once Upon a Time in Ameriac

Bart, Is it wrong to steal a loaf of bread to feed your starving family? No. Well suppose you got a large starving family, is it wrong to steal a truckload of bread to feed them? Uh-uh. And what if your family don't like bread, they like cigarettes? I guess thats ok. Now what if instead of giving them away, you sold them at a price that was practically giving them away. Would that be a crime Bart?

Are there new special features on this new DVD? Commentary? Behind the scenes footage? Documentary?

Now, this cover tops the old cover of the DVD. Fabulous cover.

Stanley: You want a shot? (offers liquor)
Blanche: No, I rarely touch it.
Stanley: There's some people that rarely touch it, but it touches them often.
