Is it true that Casino was censored because in the "Vice Scene" it originally showed the guys eye pop out of his head?

That's something i've wondered too. I bought Casino and I have watched it a million times and not once recalled seeing that scene. A friend of mine says it is on her tape. Then again, I bought my copy of Casino from Blockbuster which may be the reason its not on there. Hmm, if its on the dvd i'll pick that up eventhough its overpriced.

It's on the DVD. It's just not as graphic as you'd expect. Nicky keeps tightening the vise and you (barely) see something go flying in the air (doesn't look like an eyeball), and Nicky looks disgusted. Then, when the guy finally gives up the name he's looking for, Nicky says, "You made me pop out your f***** eye for that?" (or something like it).

It's on the DVD -- and I can clearly see it actually pop out.

if you watched closely on that scene, you will see something popped out when Nicky tighten the vice. and i think that's the eyeball Nicky mentioned. . .

I must've missed that. I'll have to watch it again.

No Doubt. It's a Very good scene. However, when you actually have a guy's head in a vice, his eyes do turn blood shot red, then you can hear his cranium start to crack as you tighten. Depending on how large the vice is, you might even hear his jaw fracture first.

About the Casino DVD being overpriced, I bought mine about a year ago (2002) as a 2 pack with Carlitos Way. The total was about $28 at Best Buy. I have seen both those films at the same place for $22 each. The 2 pack was a great deal.

Bart, Is it wrong to steal a loaf of bread to feed your starving family? No. Well suppose you got a large starving family, is it wrong to steal a truckload of bread to feed them? Uh-uh. And what if your family don't like bread, they like cigarettes? I guess thats ok. Now what if instead of giving them away, you sold them at a price that was practically giving them away. Would that be a crime Bart?

Its not included. I used PowerDVD player and examined EACH and EVERY frame in that scene and found that what you think is an eye is acually blood spurts. It sorta comes out a LITTLE in one of the shots over the guy's face though.

I've got the book; it's pretty good. The vise scene is right near the beginnning before Tony (Nicky in the movie) moves to Vegas.

the guy in the vice' name in real life is Billy McCarthy. one of the toughest guy he tortured in the Mob according to Tony Spilotro. he had to wait for his eye to pop out before mentioning names . . .
