I think that if there is one man in the history of cinema that can make the scene if the movie a twisted world, it has to be...Quentin Tarantino.
If Grand Theft Auto were to be made into a movie, there should be some traits the movie should have.
Just like Pulp Fiction, the movie should have different parts to the story.
The movie should start off with the crook(played by Edward Norton) coming to a nightclub having just killed Salvatore "Sal" Leone(played by Al Pacino). Meeting up with 8-Ball(played by LL Cool J) in the club, the crook suggests he and 8-Ball leave the city and meet up with Maria(played by Alyssa Milano). While driving around town, the crook and 8-Ball realize that they were both going to end up dead in the first place and get framed for the murder of a Forelli family member(aka the car bomb body/last mob mission). Just off the mile of the docks, they end up facing a blocked area of mobsters headed by Joey Leone(played by Scott Caan). And then it cuts to the opening credits and thus a different angle comes into play.
Here is the supposed cast of the movie:
Andy Garcia as Luigi Gotterelli
James Gandolfini as Tony Cipriani
Robert DeNiro as Donald Love
Chow-Yun Fat as Kenji
Lucy Liu as Asuka
Michelle Rodriguez as Catalina
Vin Diesel as El Burro
Harvey Keitel as Ray Machowski
Chris Tucker as D-Ice

Who would agree with me that if QT directed this movie that it would be as good or better than his other flicks.

It's not personal, it's strictly business-Al Pacino/Godfather 1

As I've said before... A GTA movie would SUCK because of lack of a plot.

8-Ball was bad all along. He was the one that helped the set up of the attempted killing of the main character (the man with no name). As for plot, get some good writers and you might be able to pull it off. Hey, who says it has to me exactly like the game? As for the characters:

Edward Norton- The Man With No Name
Ice Cube- 8-Ball
Joe Pantoliano- Luigi Gotterelli
James Gandolfini- Tony Cipriani
Scott Caan- Joey Leone
Al Pacino- Salvatore Leone
Marisa Tomei- Maria
Matthew Broderick- Donald Love
Michelle Rodriguez- Catalina
Jet Li- Kenji
Lucy Liu- Asuka
Vin Diesel- El Burro
Harvey Keitel- Ray Machowski

I would agree with you that QT would be a good choice for director.

How am I not myself?

ya kiddin? fresh plot? like itd make a difference....think about the huge fan base the games have and the ppl would come if sum1 took a thirty minute film of a big piece of dog crap and slapped the name Grand Theft Auto on it. but if it was properly directed and well written with a good cast itd be hard to beat. also i think that vice city might have a better story for a movie...i mean u got all the good movies that are the whole rise and fall of a gangster...well wouldnt every1 want to see a real goodfella TAKE OVER a town for once...HUH?
