I saw a tV spot in Telemundo channel. It is going to show up in NBC. It seems that is a show about a Mexican drug dealing organization. It looks interesting.

Anybody going to watch it?

Giorgio Luigi Gambino.

DGG, you beat me at posting about this. I am definatly going to watch the show. It looks great. The star of the show was tv this morning and said it is kind of a 'mexican Godfather'. I have a feeling this will be a great show. I can't wait.

if it's on NBC, it might not be very graphic, which would take away a lot of the drama, but i have heard about this show.

At first I thought the show would be a huge cliche. How many movies have there been about Spanish druglords? I mean, we've all seen Scarface, right? I thought Kingpin would be portray stereotypes of the majority of the Hispanic race as money chasing drug dealers.

Then I saw the reviews. As a Hispanic drug dealer myself, I find movies with the same theme interesting. Of course, no one's life can be so intersante, full of killing and explosions and stuff. But it's all fun to watch.

I'm glad to hear the show is not a cliche but probably a really good drug traffiking television show.

Bravo will run an uncut show in march from what I understand....so if you like it now, you will love the new scenes in march!

I watched my tape of the show tonight. It wasn't half bad for a network TV show. I'm going to give it one more episode to decide if I'll stick with it.

I was out of home, but I saw the last half of the show. i thought it was pretty good and is close to the language we use(like "pinches gtringos": fucking gringos) and the hits are like those who had happened(when they killed Ernesto in the surgeon's place it looked like the hit on the Boss of Bossses in Mexico, Amado Carrillo, who died choked while in surgery)

But I have two questions:

1. Who was the old man who was whacked in the boat?

2. Almost at the end, the blond girl(don't know her name or status) speaks to Miguel about a hit. Miguel syas that is nothing to be happy about: whose hit they are talking about? Ernesto or the old man? If it was Ernesto, why?

Thanks. I'll watch the Tuesday episode for sure.

Giorgio Luigi Gambino.

I don't blame you for being confused, Georgio. They threw an awful lot of characters at us in that first episode. The old guy whacked on the boat was the uncle, whose son was the crazy guy with the tiger. The two brothers whacked him because he was old, soft and dope-riddled, I guess. The hit that the wife was talking about was of the crazy guy with the tiger, whose behavior was dangerous and who, in the first half, got mad at her and was getting ready to whip her.

Oh Man, I just went to IMDB: is a 6 episode miniseries. Dang! I hope it is a success, so there can be a TV show!

Episode 1 Review:
At first I found it annoying. Ernesto, the guy with the tiger, annoyed the hell out of me. He was loud and stupid. Hated him. Miguel seems too serious, and the only guy who's right and knows everything, like he's all "perfect" and stuff. He needs more flaws. I like the wife, the woman DEA agent, that Mexican cop, the other guy on the boat (Miguel's brother?) and the plastic surgeon. So yeah, at first I didn't like it, but the ending got me. The family "settled its accounts", Godfather-style. The deaths in the ends were awesome. The old man on the boat's death was my favorite.
Grade: B-

Episode 2:
I liked this one better, but I was expecting more cool deaths. I like the new characters, though, like the voodoo family. That chick in black who gives Miguel's son the necklace is cool. The making of the general a herion addict was cool too.
Grade: B

Kingpin is very good so far.

You can see more of Tiger Man in Next Friday, he steals the show! Junior!

The Blonde Chick is his wife btw, i wonder if Miguel ever told her: Never get high on yuor own supply?!

WOW, the show got a LOT better.

Episode 3:
It's been a while since I've seen it, but I know I loved it. The whole warning signs about the "face in the sky" the herion/cocaine trade with the Japanese and the Godfather homage about the dead dog on his dinner table...and Junie. Junie's now my favorite character. The whole skateboard under the car shooting thing was great.
Grade: A

Episode 4:
I loved that British guy. And the wife in rehab...you feel sorry for her. And I liked the flashback scene ("we gotta toughen this kid up", a line from Goodfellas). And Miguel's young cousin who wants be in the action....there's just little things about the show that you remember that make it good.
Grade: A- or A

Episode 3:
The whole druken sherrif abusing his power seems to familiar to me. When it consentrates more on the black guys, it's more interesting to me. They probably had more of that story than Miguel's family in this episode. The face surgeon guy and Junie are still my favorite characters. They have the best chemistry. It was an OK episode, and the ending was more than OK. "Why'd you do it?" "I wanted to see what a sin felt like". And with Migeul's brother stabbing the guys in the steam room- another great death scene to save the episode.

Series Finale:

Pretty good ending. The whole attempt on Don Miguel's life was very Godfather style. I thought it was kind of a rip off. But the ending made up for it. The strangling in the greenhouse was great. And Junie and the Plastic Surgeon are my favorite characters. The whole woman cop and Truck shootout was okay. It was a satisfying ending to the series. Chato gets his revenge.
