Does anyone know of any good movies about the Yakuza/Triad/Russian Mob? all i know of is Brother which is a good Yakuza one
I hate people who are against vengance, they say that killing them won't make the lost come back, the way i see it, if you let them get away with that, they'll do it again and again until you are destroyed.

"The Yakuza" with Robert Mitchum was ok, but it's hard to find. "Little Odessa" is a pretty decent film with Tim Roth about the Russian Mafia in Brooklyn, but it's more a personal story, less a Mob story. Good, though. Triads? Many of those Jackie Chan, etc., shoot-em-ups have Triad-type themes. Quite a few of the movies made in China in the past decade that came to the US have Triad themes.

Triads: A Better Tomorrow 1,2, and 3 The Killer Just Heroes Tragic Hero(Rich and Famous is the U.S. title) The Year Of The Dragon( the book is better IMHO) Yakuza: Sonatine Hana-Bi( Fireworks is the U.S. title) Violent Cop Brother The Street Fighter( Involves Yakuza and Mafia) I don't know of any movies that center on the Russian Mafiya, but the group has been relatively uninvolved in affairs outside of Eastern Europe until the early 1990's. Because of this, i'm not suprised a russian "Godfather" has not appeared yet. A Better Tomorrow 1 and The Killer are probably the best Triad movies ever made, and as a matter of fact ABT was(and still is) the highest grossing film in Hong Kong cinema history. Chow Yun-Fat starred and John Woo directed both of these. If you're interested in any of these, i've seen most of them at Suncoast/Sam Goody type places for sale.
