Man I love that movie. I realize it's largely dramatized from Pistone's book but as movies go, it was brilliant. Pacino and Depp got royally screwed out of Oscar nominations for their performances. It's such a contrast to the GF films as it really digs into the street hood aspect of the Mafia. I love the scene of Al slouching in his ratty old easy chair in his crummy apartment, wearing a tight jogging suit and watching Naional Geographic or something. It's quite a juxtaposition of the scene in GFII when he's sitting upright in his stately throne-like chair, wearing a suit, his hair slicked back, listening to Connie's pleas to forgive Fredo, her kissing his hand ...

I'm a big fan of the movie, but the weirdest part to me was how after 2 years Lefty just waltzes up to Donnie asking about the diamond. Is that how that really happened?

Where can I get a scar like that eating "Pineapple"

I just placed an order on amazon.com today for the Pistone book. Looking forward to reading it!

Only thing is, Pacino dies in the movie. Yet, in real life, the guy who puts his jewellery away doesnt die, he's imprisoned. Napolitano was killed for allowing Pistone into the crew though.
