I'd recommend reading "The Godfather" first.

You'll find this question being moved to the "Mario Puzo Novels" forum. You might look around there to get some ideas about what other members thought about the other books by Puzo. I expect you'll get some answers here, too.

Welcome to the boards.

What do you mean with Mario Puzo set? You mean you bought all the books or is there a kind of "Box set" of his?

Yeah, Godfather first.

Second: The Last Don
Third: Omerta
Fourth: Fools Die
---
After that, I don't know. These are the only books I've read (disregarding the Sicilian, which I got about 50 pages through and quit).

Im thinking of reading The Godfather first obviously, followed by The Sicilian (sequel to godfather) and then decide from there.

"The Sicilian" is a decent story but its not a sequel to "The Godfather". It has three of the characters from "The Godfather" but only in MINOR roles with small parts.

The so-called sequel was called "The Godfather Returns" by Mark Winegardner. Its been very poorly received here on these boards. IMO, if you don't read it you won't miss anything. Stick with Puzo's stories.

Puzo's stories are the BEST...

ok This is my point:

1-The Godfather
2-The Godfather Returns(the other may not agree but If I were you I would do it to compare)
3-The Sicilian(Because of Michael in Sicily
4-Omerta
5-The Last Don
6-The Fourth K
7-Fools die
8-The Dark Arena
9-The Fortunate Pilgrim
10-The Family

I didn´t read 6, 7, 8 and 9 I am just guessing
