The Slippery Slope
I've started it three or four times, but it never held my interest and I've never gotten past the beginning.

I read the whole thing during a flight home from California one time. Great book! Not my favorite work from Puzo, but great none the less.

Yea, that was his first work, followed by The Dark Arena, then the Godfather.

I read some of The Fortunate Pilgrim. I plan on reading the whole thing, though. I want to read it due to my interest in my great-grandparents' immigration here to America. I read before that Mario Puzo made this book with inspiration from his mother. I see my mother as The Don in my family also, so I plan on reading it out of interest and curiosity. I've read about 2 chapters so far and it seems to be a pretty good book.

You know, we always called each other good fellas. Like you said to, uh, somebody, :You're gonna like this guy. He's all right. He's a good fella. He's one of us.: You understand? We were good fellas.

this was a good book about a family. Not much mafia stuff in it (a little though). Still, a well written book about Puzo's generation of immigrants.
