Hey, I need a scene me and a partner can do for something called Voices Final. We have to preform a published scene. Both people have to have about the same amount of lines. I was thinking Fredo's heartwrenching-I'm smaaaht speech,(me being Fredo)
or my signature. Any ideas on a scene?

That's a good scene. smile

How about Michael & Vito in the garden? "I never wanted this for you...senator Corleone", etc.

How many minutes does this scene need to be?

Vito is way too hard to do that voice! smile My partner doesnt really like the Godfather so he's not going to do Michael's Sicilian accent, so...I guess I'll consider it

LOL, keep it serious. If you want to make points do the opera scene were Mary gets shot. When you do the cry without sound and after a few seconds you start to scream. Wonderful. But as you said Michael wasn't an option.

Maybe you should do the part when Vince and Mary are talking about the Death of Fredo.

My first inclination was to suggest the scene where Vito gives his speech at the meeting of the 5 familys [how did we come to this?], but other then the short interchange with Barzini its more or less one sided, I guess it wouldn't fit your criteria.

How about the meeting with either Senator Geary, or Hyman Roth? The lines seem to be about equal. cool

Depending on length and how dramatic you want to get: Michael's confession to Cardinal Lamberto.

If it has to be just two characters, most scenes are not long. Michael and Frankie P. on Michael's surprise visit. Michael and Fredo having a drink in Cuba. Or you could really impress them and do it in Italian; Michael and Sollozzo at the restaurant. Young Vito and Signor Columbo "the rent stays-a, da same."

Better yet, ala The Soprano's Christopher Moltisanti, do the Rebel Without A Cause scene and play James Dean. cool

Don Sonny - I suggest you dump your partner and get someone who can appreciate a great film when he/she sees one.

How about the opening scene of the first movie between Vito & Bonasera? It certainly sets the tone for the movie and will be instantly recognizable.

You see my delema, there are way too many good scenes. If I do a scene without Fredo, then Mike is OK(my prefrance out of the 2 would be Fredo) but Vito, that raspy voice ... well.with all this sickness going around ... Another thing I was thinking was when Mike,Tom,Neri and Rocco are plotting Roths murder.

You could force your partner to wear a wig and make him recite Kay's lines when she told Michael she had an abortion. That way you get to slap him around a little.

Howza 'bout when Tom is having dinner at Jack Woltz' house where they are discussing Jackie Boy giving Johnny Fontaine ..."that part in the new war picture..."

Couple of more suggestions:

-Young Vito with Don Fannuci in the coffee shop

-Young Vito at the Italian opera with Genco

-Roth explaining its "business" about the Moe Greene whack [dont forget the funny noises made by Roth]

grin
