I just found this thing so excuse me if this is a dumb question. I have seen a scene where Vito, his sons and Johnny visit Genco in the hospital as he is dying. Why was this scene left out and what version of the film can I see it in?

Welcome to the boards! It is not a dumb question at all. This question has been asked many times, so you are not alone. It is obvious that The Godfather was a long movie and many scenes had to be cut out in order to shorten the movie, although even when edited, it was still a pretty long movie for it's time. You can find the scene that you are talking about on the bonus DVD from the DVD collection and The Godfather Saga which was made for TV. I believe that it is also in the Godfather Trilogy 1901 - 1980 boxed set. Hope to see more of your posts and questions! Caio!

Thanks for the information, I will look for those versions of the film. I do have another question if anyone knows. Has Francis Ford Copola ever publicly apologized for The Godfatther Part 3?
