I think this is going to be the best movie of the year. I can't wait for it.

I can't wait for it either. It'll easily be in my top ten for 2006. So far my list includes:

1) V for Vendetta
2) United 93
3) Superman Returns
4) X3: The Last Stand
5) Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

X3: THE LAST SHIT!

Anyway, THE DEPARTED looks good. Let's hope Scorsese has gotten away from his big-budget Oscar-bait pictures and delivers another winning movie.

Hell, the new trailer for DePalma's Oscar-buzzing THE BLACK DAHLIA looks KICK ASS. Check it out!

http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/theblackdahlia.html;_ylt=Aro1uVUT_73bzRdiXVR.a6hfVXcA

BTW, 5 brownie points to anyone that catches the DePalma cameo in the trailer.

3) Raging Bull
4) Goodfellas
5) The Big Lebowski
6) The Usual Suspects
7) JFK

Those are all I can think of off the top of my head without looking at my DVD collection

Please...please...don't fuck up Spider-Man 3.

DJ, glad to see someone with some logic agrees with me.

Well, SPIDERMAN 3 is iffy. Will it continue to be juvenile fare, or its puppy dog teen angst love story bullshit, or will we actually get a truely worthwhile movie...and not simply for the superhero/comic book genre.

But hey, VENOM!

So glad there's finally a trailer for this. Looks good, different than I expected, but good. It felt so great to hear Gimme Shelter in a Scorsese preview again. Eagerly awaiting this.

I dream in widescreen.

BTW, whats up with the use of that one particular not-so-good cover of "Comfortably Numb" by Van Morrison?

Still, if Marty is gonna use THAT song in the movie, he better get the only true version...the original.

P.S. - Then again, Marty somehow is perfect in his use of music to editing and narrative, even using tunes in CASINO that despite me thinking "eh?", their useage are almost perfect.

I thought I recalled reading somewhere that Pink Floyd was very strict on what they license their music too. Come to think of it, the only time I've heard their music in another film was in last year's "The Squid and the Whale".

Yeah if it looks like Goodfellas and Casino and you didn't like it then don't go to watch this one.

First off, fuck you, you piece of shit scumbag cocksucking remedial-ass lowlife.

Second of all, I was giving my opinion. That's what message boards are for, you fucking dolt. You made a post asking me why this film looking like Casino/Goodfellas was a bad thing, with 3 laughing faces might I add, and I gave you straight answer. Now you want to tell me some lame-ass garbage like "Boo fucking hoo if you despise those films. They were perfectly fine. If it's not a good thing, don't fucking watch it." ??? That just proves you're a condescending, elitist, manipulative asshole. Fuck you.

Back on Topic. Scorse's Departed looks like a great return to the Crime genre and I can't wait. Agreed on the shitty Pink Floyd cover though.
