How could I possibly forget Ang Lee? And, although he's only directed one film (he has also written one), Paul Haggis can be added to my list. I predict a mouldy future for him.

Spielberg has AT BEST a mixed record.

Jaws -- an ok flick followed by 100 loousy seuels.

Indiana Jones Mivies Ditto

Jurassic Park Movies Ditto

Empire of the Sun - BORING

Artificial Intelligence - A sacrelige to Stanley Kubrick's memory.

Catch me if You Can - Ruined DeCaprio's career.

War of the Worlds - Most overrated movie ever.

And didnt he have something to do with The Terminal? The TERMINAL? I thought that piece of shit was never going to terminate.

Well, considering that since then he's worked mostly with Scorsese, I'd disagree with that.

Regarding Jaws: should a director be judged by the sequels he never made?

Antollini? Antonioni?

Jarmusch and Mann overrated? Time for some dropkicking.

I agree.

Speilberg and Howard and geniuses but Mann and Jarmusch are overrated? That's insane.

Michael Mann has been nominated for Best Director once, and most of his films go largely unnoticed by the academy and the general viewing public.

If anything I'd call him underrated.

I dream in widescreen.

Tony Z, I meant Antonioni.....more 60s really for him, but it felt right spirit-wise in my initial post.

The only Antonioni film I've ever seen is Blow Up, and it's a masterpiece. I'd love to indulge myself in his work, but I haven't got the time or motivation. In fact, I think I've watched 2 movies in the past month and a half. I'll get back on track sooner or later, but I'm more interested in music right now.
