Originally posted by Turnbull: Johnny Ola was right: Barzini's Cad was a '56. Let me first state, that when it comes to identifying cars, Turnbull is tops, hands down! I have a interest in old cars, specifically Cadillacs. The Cadillac in the picture is a 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special Four Door Sedan, not a Series 75 Sedan or Limousine. *Note* Series 75's came both in a Sedan and a Limousine, the difference being the Limousine had the divider window, and the Sedans didn't. The giveaway is the vertical chrome louvers at the end of the rear fender. Only the Fleetwood Sixty Specials had them. 1954 they were on the bottom of the rear doors. In 1956 the exhaust ports were oval instead of round. I always thought the scene showing the rear of the Cadillac during Barazinis hit, was really a work of art. FFC used all the elements of a 50's mobster. A well dressed boss and his long black Cadillac.
I love my Chrysler and tuna fish sandwiches.

But the car I really love is in the scene when Michael returns to Tahoe after Havana. He's driven through the gate in the rarest car in GFII: a '58 Chrysler Imperial Crown Ghia limo, one of fewer than a dozen built by Ghia of Milan, Italy--at $13k, the most expensive US car of that era. Where FFC found it, I'll never know. And it's only on screen for 10 seconds. That's not the only Imperial: when Michael visits Fredo in Vegas for the Moe Green powwow, he shows up in a '54 Crown Imperial limo, one of only 23 built that year. At $7k, it cost nearly a grand more than a Cad Fleetwood 75 limo. Any movie director or production chief can find vintage Cads, but trust FFC to work harder.

[/b]Thanks again to Turnbull on educating me on the difference between a Chysler and a Imperial. This is truly a magnificent automobile!
