I think he would fitted perfectly as Zaza. Joe did a good job. But I could see pesci in that role. if pesci was in a godfather it would have been complete with my fav actors.

I dunno Rudik.... I think the Zasa persona was someone - "professional", who knew how to run a business and look and speak the part. Now I love Pesci the same as anyone else, but his demeanor is one of , up to no good -being loud, he calls a lot of attention to himself, which I think Zasa did not want to do.
I think Pesci would make a good Gotti.? ohwell
