Sort of A Sequel to my "Do you belive?" thread. Ive always been intrested in the conspiracy of Ghosts. Ive seen alot of supposed pictures but none of them look convincing. Maybe you guys would like to draw your own opinions.

I know 2 families who have had experiences with ghosts, although one may have been a poltergeist.

The family with the ghost/poltergeist believed it was a dead neighbor. They occasionally saw a shadow and it threw books at them. I was never in the house so I don't know. They were visited by many tragedies-two children who I went to school with died young, for instance.

The ghost story is that I know a family and one of the adult children lives in his grandparent's house. All of the members of the family have sen the randmother's ghost at some time. She will appear at the door of the dining room and look at them, like she is just checking up on them, and then is gone. These are serious people and not given to lies or fantasy. I was in the house once and we were in the kitchen and heard something fall in teh dining room. A candlestick was lying on the floor across the room from where it usually is. No one else was in the house. I can't explain that one.

So do I. One lived in New York and one lived in California. They used to have ghost to ghost, coast to coast broadcasts.

I think some "ghosts" are merely demonic beings masquerading as dead loved ones in some instances, so in that sense, there is a supernatural aire about these phenomena. But I think the other stories are all boulderdash which folks tell for attention or whatever. Once you're dead, your spirit is in one place or the other...but you're definitely no longer "earth-bound."

I've experienced what I'll term 'ghostly phenomena', mostly while living in a house in Ohio, between the ages of 11 and 18. The man who'd lived there prior to us had hanged himself in the closet of what became my parents' bedroom. I once heard a game of pool being shot on the table in the basement very late at night, when only my parents and I were there, and they were both sound asleep. My mom admitted to one of my sisters that she saw kitchen cabinets opening on their own. I and 3 friends witnessed the outside basement door open very violently on its own one night while using a Ouija board. I've had other experiences outside that house, but have yet to actually see a ghost.

My mother lived in a haunted house in Jersey City when she was growing up.
