Not sure if that's the right question. Death doesn't cause war (the opposite to peace, I suppose).

But whatever, when you ask the right question, the answer will be something along the lines of life being a test and all that.

Good question.
After living a few hundred years, you will be bored to death

Simple. Overpopulation. If no one would die, there would already be zillions of people on this planet. And few space left...

Thats A good point, but why did God create pain? yeah sure, we have to die, but why do we have to die in pain, why not A painless death?

Some die painless. Pain is necessary. If we never felt pain, we would have no compassion. I think without pain we would be pretty heartless. It teaches us mercy.

Not all deaths are in pain. Sometimes people just die in their sleep, painless (presumably). Sometimes they do it do themselves, like getting lung cancer from smoking.
When you are shot, the pain is caused by the bullet destroying the nerv system...

I recently saw a tv program about a 4 year old girl that didn't feel any pain. Her parents had to prevent her constantly from poking her own eyes out. So pain is also physically necessary, not only emotionally.

[/b][/quote]JustMe, I am going to take a broader meaning of pain = suffering. If there is no pain in the world, what is the need for compassion/mercy? Anyway no one is suffering. You beat a man, starve him, emotionally hurt him, nothing will cause suffering in a painless world. Infact I would say that compassion and mercy are meaningful only in a world where there is pain/suffering.

Well to find the answer about why there is death, all you need to do is go back to the book of Genesis if you believe in Judism or Christianity.

Now as far as you putting peace with death, what does peace have to do with death? Someone can live in peace all of their lives and will still die. And not having or living in peace does ot necessarily cause death.

Simply put, you have to have the bad (i.e. death, pain, suffering, etc) to really be able to apperciate the good in life, otherwise it would all be the same, mundane thing forever.

Oh dear, actually his question does make sense.
Here it goes: If there were no deaths, many warriors would've been still alive. I don't like living with Alexander, Hitler and the rest of the gang... Those we have today are more than enough to deal with.

The answer to the questions above is such a simple basic of life;

ying and yang!

without bad no good;
without night no day;
without up no down;
without sunset no sunrise;
without death no life;
without destruction no creation;
without the devil no god

etc

Especially for children, this fundamental concept of life (circle of life)is clearly outlined in the movie: "The Lion King" ;-)

Don't forget: the sweet is never as sweet without the sour!

Of course religion makes people believe in them being close to a god / close to something very special, i don't think people are that special. We're just like ants, we live, eat, work, fight and die. Plain and simple.

Not for me. I don't like sweetness in my main meals. Only dessert can be sweet for me. :p

Blame Adam and Eve. They "created" death, not God: Genesis 2:

15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."

God often gets the blame when it's nothing more than either man's sin or something due to the fallenness of man (and our world) because of original sin.

Its the eternal question. If God is so good, how did he create evil?

As I understand it, he didn't "create" evil as such, he allows it to happen because of free will, and without free will, faith in Him would be automatic and thus meaningless.

Because as has been stated here, you can't have good without evil. You can't have one without the other. It's the balance of the universe.

svsg, you seem to forget that it was Afi who proposed marriage to me! When I came from Sicily, she called my mom, came to my home and caught me by surprise.

As to stranglings, shootings and drownings... How can you believe this? The person who told you such nonsense, who ever it is, was hysterical. Hysterical.
OK, this one time I'll let you all ask me if it is true.
NO.
