Congrats, Douche! Does this mean you won't be playing Fantasy Baseball? :p I wish you and the lucky lady a long life of happiness! And the obligatory first child as a masculine child!

DS, what wonderful news! I don't know your future wife, but I know she is lucky to have such a nice young man as you. I wish you both all of the happiness in the world. Do keep us up on the details if you want to. What does she do for a living? Is she from the Chicago area too? Did you set a date yet? Ha ha I sound like I'm giving you the third degree. Come to the Philly meeting so we can all meet her and give our approval. I'll make sure nobody calls you douchebag. (That's one hell of a nickname ) Anyway the best to you DS. TIS

Wonderful news, CS! This is so good to hear, and I'm very happy for you. My favorite element is getting married! Be sure to give us all the details on it, as you know we'd love to hear everything - or as much as you'd like to say. I promise we won't stalk you and crash the wedding. :p As SC said, it'd be great to know her name, though I would refer to her as The Future Mrs. CS, otherwise. And here's a little present for you: Don't mind her - she's just jealous. Seriously, congratulations, CS. You truly are a very sweet and funny person, so she's quite a lucky gal. I wish you two the best of luck together!

That's very romantic. I was actually touched when I read your description of the trail of ribbon and the notes and you getting down on one knee and everything.
Now that you've gotten that out of the way and are presumably ready to ship your family back to wherever they came from, can we please get back to the more important stuff?
Your Yahoo Fantasy Basketball team still needs help at shooting guard, there are two NFL playoff fantasy games waiting for you to join, I'm awaiting your comments on next season's Yahoo Fantasy Baseball, it's about time you started getting ready for the second half of ESPN Salary Cap Basketball, and the NBA weekly Pick 'Em game and Rookies Game have been fun and it's not too late to join those.

DS, How totally romantic. Just the fact that you planned, and set-up the atmosphere, tells me you're a romantic at heart. Am I right ladies? I'm sure Kimberly was truly touched. Always keep that touch of romance alive, even as you both get older and everything is "routine", a little romantic gesture goes a long way in touching the heart, and it's so easy to do. My very best to you and Kimberly. Be sure to post wedding pictures. TIS

Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. I'm over the moon for you Don Sicilia. Just for this occassion I'll refrain from all the Douchebag comments. Your proposal was very romantic. I always knew you had it in you. Gives me hope that are a few good men still out there. All the best, my dear friend.

What a softy! That got me thinking, maybe I'd put the ring in my jeans so she'd find it doing my laundry. But hopefully not during a football game, cuz I hate when the phone rings during a game! No No NO - I am just busting on you, very nice and sincere congratulations. Nice proposal, granted it did not have quite the romantic touch of the one Geoff proposed which consisted of leaving the ring in his pants pocket so she finds it doing the laundry ... No wonder he has so much free time for fantasy sports.
So let me offer some tips and points as well as a few suggestions for you. All in the hopes that it makes the craziness of the planning a bit more bearable.
1. Make sure she takes your last name in some part, either directly or hyphenated. Meaning if Kimberly's last name is Jones she is either Kimberly Jones-Douchebag or just Kimberly Douchebag. Do not let the good name of Douchebag get lost moving forward.
2. This is more of a heads-up and fyi. PL in a PM to me told me he is going to ask, being you are his MWA that he be allowed to give Kimberly away. He feels as MWA that is a role he should perform. However if she and I quote here 'puts a roadblock up on that and sites the whole father or close male family member crap" end quote - he will look to see if he can in turn give you away. Granted not a traditional gesture - but again as your MWA, something he wants to do. Again just a heads up
3. If you invite those of us on the BB - please sit me at a table with Buffy and Crabby. I am hoping that with an open bar that I can score a bit of action that night - if you know what I mean.
4. And speaking of scoring some action - I cannot include Lezbo in the above as PL in yet another PM to me already put dibs in for her. He told me that he thinks she has something for the old kodger and that he and once again I quote here " has a thing for young stuff" - end quote. Be aware that if you do invite her, she will probably need to bring her fashion shopping cousin Bruno. I understand Bruno gets very emotional at weddings - actually he is a cryer. To the point he is a sobber - so don't keep him near any microphones in the church. I can hear him now sobbing - Oh my little Douchebag is all grown up .... Plus he'll be singing Broadway tunes all night ...
5. If you invite Geoff do not sit him at the table with DMC and his girl Flame. Reuniting the penis twins at your reception is asking for trouble. Plus with Geoff there that will elminate any chance of Flame getting her proposal.
6. Oh and one last seating arrangement - don't sit PL or DC at the same table or if you do make it a small table outside the main room. Those two windbags going on all night about waiver moves in fantasy hockey - blah blah blah - make us me wanna go
7. Thinking of the right songs for the key dances is often difficult. To help, ask the kids on the board to make a game of it, you will have 10,000 responses in about a day. 9,000+ from IM12.
8. Have some good music - make sure plenty of slow songs as that will help me and PL and our above mentioned - scoring some action plan ...
Hopefully the above all helps in some small way.
But again - and sacrastic smartass comments aside, I truly wish you Kimberly all the best with your wedding and your lives together.
