okay, this might sound stupid...

but like do you need to have a special type of shirt to wear cuff links?

i always see wiseguys wear them in all the movies and in the sopranos but i finally bought some and didnt know how to put it on my regular dress shirt cause there was no other hole on the other side of the cuff. i used to think that they folded the cuffs back because thats how they looked. can anyone help me out?

thanks =D

You gotta buy a shirt with French cuffs (thats what the edge of the sleeves are called - see the picture below).

I used to wear them all the time (I love that look). To me, its the little things (like a nice pair of cufflinks) that top off the perfect attire.

You don't have to spend a bundle to get a decent shirt. You can find some good ones for about $35. If you're just starting out building up a wardrobe I suggest you get a white shirt (it'll go with a variety of styles) first.

French cuffs:

Make sure your cufflinks match your belt buckle (ie silver cufflinks - silver belt buckle, etc.... -- kind of like black shoes - black belt.

I always try to coordinate my cufflinks to my entire attire (that was pretty cool using those two words together!) ie... I wear a gold set of cufflinks with my gold watch band, and gold ring. Likewsie, I wear a silver based set when I wear the silver accessories.

If you are on a budget -- get a watch band with a gold and silver finish and it will work with either color.

Sometimes you can get some buttons for your shirt to match the cufflinks.

Enjoy
Gee Part, you be stylin'!!!!

I remember cufflinks always being a popular and/or appropriate gift for any guy. As a teenager, I'm sure I gave them as gifts to my father. With things being more casual these days, it's nice to hear of men getting "decked out" (by today's standards) and actually coordinating their attire. Now, are your shoes rubber souled or not???

I would remember if only you kept your underwear on! Anyway, did you need to tell everybody what's going on between us, Part??? That's typical. You consider me nothing but a prey.....
