Ha ha!! I've heard those rumors too. It's hard to tell because he always seems weird, like he's on something. You gotta admit he has a whole lot on his plate right now. I think the stress is showing. TIS

I bet he took a good strong shot after tuesday night. :p I saw one of the stories about that when I was in the grocery store about a month ago. Not that I take any stock in the tabloids, but if there was absolutely no truth to it, wouldn't Bush (or whoever appears in those magazines for any story) sue the tabloid? If some publication purported that I was drinking or using drugs, you can bet that I'd demand proof and then sue if they didn't come up with any. BTW, if Rove does resign or is indicted, does Bush have someone else lined up as Rove's replacement to fetch the drinks? Maybe Harriet Miers will be the new drink server - she certainly adores Georgie Boy enough to wait on him. :p

And speaking of Clinton, does anyone else seem to think that he really hasn't bounced back after his open-heart surgery?? He looks awful. It might be the weight loss, which never looks good on someone his age, but I think that he still may not have fully recovered. [/QB] I agree SB. He looks old and tired, and his voice is weak.

Something happened to him. If you've ever seen interviews of him from the late 80's or early 90's he seems fine in those. He spoke very well and didn't twitch at all.
In 2000 he was acting a bit funny and now it just seems worse.

There's always been the hardcore Clinton haters, perhaps comparable to the Bush haters today. I don't condone Clinton's private behavior, and ideally, it would be wonderful to have a perfect leader. However, I judge my President on his job performance.
Remembering all the "rightwing" outrage over Clinton's private behavior leading to his impeachment, I have to wonder where is all the outrage now over Bush and his staff's alleged (too mild of a word IMHO) behavior?? If this were Clinton they'd have his head by now. Why is it America needed to know the truth about Clinton's big "lie", but not until this past week or so anyway, and certainly for the most part, not here on the BB, nobody is outraged???
This administration has more problems than you can shake a stick at, and the accusations are just a tad more serious to our nation then lying about sex. So much for honor and integrity in the oval office.
Btw, if anyone else is following the current CIA investigation (and all the other trials/indictments that the Republican party face) feel free to PM articles and such as I am following it pretty closely. It would be a great thread for discussion, but I would predict that it would lead to bigtime fighting and of course blaming Clinton.

TIS Well TIS I am outraged at what is going on right now. I am outraged because I am an American registered voting tax paying citizen of this country and I don't like what is going on within the governement. I hope that they do get to the bottom of all this bullshit, that the real truth does come out, and whomever is guilty or lying is removed, held responsible for thier actions, and brought down. The reasons that there probably are not many discussions right now is because, as you pointed out, it will probably lead to some fighting and pissing contests here, and secondly, to be perfectly frank with you, no one involved in this whole shabang seems to really know what's going on themselves. Everyday the stories about these problems is changed by the media. For instance DeLay is in trouble, he is indicted. Ok, if he's done something illegal then he needs to answer for it and be brought to justice. But then the next day we find out that the Judge in the case had financially supported Delay's opponent several times in the past. One day we hear a story about the prosecutor trying several times over the years to go after several different prominent republicans. Then the story dissapears. So I refuse to debate or speculate about any of these problems right now because we the people are not getting any facts here. And I don't think that we ever do. Be it with Clinton in the past, or Bush now. They all tell us what they want to tell us. You know what? They all are a bunch of lying whores with their own agendas. Personally I don't think that any of them really give two F**ks about the people and what they should be doing to serve us. Maybe it's time we start a new political party in this country and just call it "The American People" party! Don Cardi

Thanks for the honest/fair reply DC! You're correct, all the facts are NOT out yet. However, to me, an indictment is a little more that a blind accusation. As far as Libby/DeLay goes anyway. The Grand Jury apparently found enough information to bring him to trial (as opposed to just pointing a finger). By all accounts that I've read, Libby isn't disputing what he testified to, but is going to use the "I forgot" defense, which, from what I've read also, isn't the best defense. P.S. I'll probably regret I even said anything here. TIS

What we should remember is that if Scotter Libby doesn't want to go to prison for lying.....thing is, why did he lie if nothing happened?
In other words....major stuff could happen if he squeal information to the Prosecutor of his "boss", Vice-President Dick Cheney. That is, if the President doesn't pardon Libby. However, it wouldn't be wise to pardon Libby unless its absolutely necessary, since the possible backlash in the media and public would be....brutal for a President, as low as his polls are.
If anything, the President should ask Cheney to resign, and nominate/approve a new Vice-President.

Don Cardi [/QB][/quote]DC I dont agree with you on politics very often, but what you say here is 100% correct. Nothing ever changes but the swines at the trough. We should start a new party, and it should be dedicated to serving the people of this country in every way...defense, health care, education, infrastructure, the works. We should just start trying things to improve the country, and if they work, we keep doing it and if they dont we try something else.

Speculation has it that Fitzgerald is insisting on "some" amount of jail time, which of course Libby doesn't want. I'm guessing Fitzgerald is trying to get Libby to flip, but I'm hearing how he won't ever flip. He may be counting on a pardon, who knows? TIS
