The Bright Side Of The Road
The much hyped "Lost" has been running on Channel 4 for about six weeks now. Since it's on on Wednesdays at 10:00pm it's one I decided I could probably commit to watching over along run.

I think I've watched six episodes now and this is one of the most medicore pieces of TV I've seen in a long time. Slow, painfully slow, this could have been put to bed in 8 episodes rather than the 24 I think that are in season 1. It's got to the stage where I hope they run out of food and water and die a slow painful death (all except the Korean girl whom I find strangely attractive). Some of the dialogue is almost comedic ans the characters are fairly shallow.

Can any fans out there convince me to sit through the next 18 episodes or will I make do with re-runs of Fawlty Towers??

Michael: "Turnbull is a good man"
Shane MacGowan: "It was Christmas Eve babe, in the drunk tank"

not me. I quitted too.

I don't want realism. I want magic! Yes, yes, magic. I try to give that to people. I do misrepresent things. I don't tell the truth. I tell what ought to be truth (Blanche/A streetcar named desire)

I am a big fan of Lost, and my absolute favorite part of the show is how dynamic and perfectly developed the main characters are. Every single eppisode, there is a series of flashbacks which pertain to one of the characters, so by the end of the season, you feel like you really know them all. I also like how epic the story is, and all the mysteries that the island holds.

If you have only seen 6 eppisodes then keep watching cause you havent seen anything yet.

I watched the first few episodes, and thought they were awesome.. and after that I just lost interest.

Maybe I'll try and catch it next week.

Well they keep saying there's 48 survivors but we only ever see about a dozen. Harley's picking the rest off one by one

Compared to most of the rubbish on our screens, Lost ain't that bad.

Apparently it turns out they all died in the crash, and the island is purgatory.

Just guessing, I don't actually know, just predicting typical shmaltzy-spiritual-fatalistic ending to it all.

I'm assuming this show has already completed it's first season in the US so I please ask for it not to be ruined for the UK and Ireland people of the board.

I've been hooked to this show. It's pretty good and I await each episode wondering who it'll be based on next. As a guitarist I almost wept when Locke revealed Charlies guitar to him. I'll admit that the show has become less surreal as it's gone on. It's a shame because many of us thought it was the next Twin Peaks.

I also dig the Korean girl.

The first season of Lost is already on DVD over here. I've read the hype, but I haven't really gotten into it. Then again, I don't watch a lot of TV anymore.
