This is one of those moments when everyone goes crazy on TV about one of these photos. I saw the dog on the news and I pretty much feel sorry for the thing, sure it's blind, cloudy eyes give it a demonic look along with it's bald skin and bad teeth, but come on....he's still cute! :p

Unfortunately, Sam is suffering from a number of age-related ailments (congestive heart failure, lung and kidney problems) and will probably make no more public appearances, so he may have to cede his "World's Ugliest Dog" crown in next year's competition.

On a similar subject, isn't it amazing how we see so many deaths in film, and can usually brush it off, but when we see animals we love like dogs die in films, we just get crushed?
