Guys I am finally free

Today was my first day of college and I love it. As soon as I got setteled and my parents left, all my feelings of scardness and sadness went out the window. I am loving every minute of this.

Hello RB,

No wonder you haven't been around for a while. I'm glad you're settled in and happy. I assume you have a roommate? When do classes start?

I'm sure you'll love the feeling of independence, even if you'll be working hard studying, it'll still be a wonderful experience.

Good luck to you!!

I'm assuming it's "Party" weekend??? Might as well tie one on before you hit the books.

My oldest niece leaves for college tomorrow (first in our immediate family to do so).

She's been preparing and shopping all week with her mother and has been waiting a long time for this. She's not going out of state and will be less than an hour away, but still will be out on her own. I'm quite happy & excited for her!!

Congrats on your newfound freedom, ragingbull2003! May you enjoy every minute of it!!

I remember my first day. I hated my whole first semester. I was miserable. Then I found Wild Turkey and life was good again.

If you drink, be careful though. I went to a house party yesterday and the cops busted it. With no back door, I had to leap out a two story window into some bushes and run through a couple of yards. Thank God I had my Turkey to protect me from any physical pain.

Don't take college to seriously.

At what age can you start drinking in the USA?

It's 21.

So there is a lot of underage drinking in college and a lot of losers (cough) jumping out of windows to escape The Law.

I went to a frat party tonight and if I could compare it to any movie I would have to compare it to Animal House. Ive been to some pretty sick high school parties, but this one tonight was ridiculous. If it is any foreshadowing, then the rest of the year is gonna be aweeeeeesooooomeee!

Nice Bull,

Hope you had fun. And Yes, there will be a party every week. Especially at the frats. Just make sure you don't show up univited, or most frats will toss you out or, depending on your demeanor, kick your ass. I've had to run from those situations too. Good Luck.

Ragg,

It's called Balanced Perspective. On one side are the academics, the other side is social life. Find the balance. I need you in the work force in 4 years contributing to Social Security, so don't fuck it up for us oldsters.

I got here (Penn State) last Thursday. Today is the first day of classes. The college life is even better than I expected. I love it here in State College. Let's just say that now I know why they call it "Happy Valley".

College life is fun. Best place to meet nice good-looking educated girls.

Last night, me and my suite mates threw a little party in our suite, and an inconvinent series of events (i.e. somebody on another floor setting off the fire alarm, and one kid getting sick and puking all over the quad yard) led to us getting caught. I dont think I will be in serious trouble, but probation is surely inevitable.

I feel like such a retard

You'll just get written up, Bull. No MIP or jail time or fine.

I used to go to suite parties every weekend when I lived in the dorms. I was in a big one and I left to go to the bathroom and when I got back, The COPS (Not a RA) were standing at the door asking them all questions. So I quickly turned around, found a room a couple floors up, and started hanging out there after they thought I was the spitting image of Jack Black. (This pleased them so)

Keep enjoying it man. But bottom line, if someone else is willing to throw the party, let them! No skin off your back. Wait until you are sure there are no other get-togethers and take the risk off of you.

Partying in your dorm is always risky. It's much better to go out to a frat or an apartment. The alcohol is free and there are a lot of girls. Last night I went to a party and never made it back to my room. I woke up at the frat this morning. I missed my first two classes. I definitely don't want to make that a habit (missing class, not partying)
