I just saw G Part I for the umpteenth time. Where Michael is sitting by his fathers casket in the grave yard, just as he is standing up to go talk with Tessio ("I can arrange security"), if you view this scene in slow motion, you will see the image of a woman's face in the shadow of Michael's clothing. It comes back a moment later as Michael is sitting back down. At first I thought this might have been a flaw in the camera work, perhaps Michaels mother's face or some other actresses face, being reflected somehow. It would be fun if it was some secret deliberate thing, but I don't think it is. - But look at it! It's spooky! Just FYI and wondering if anyone knows more...

There's a bunch of stuff about this on the website... at http://www.jgeoff.com/godfather.html, if you click on where it says "GF1" in the top left corner, then scroll down, the fifth item under "See Also:" is all about this image. Besides that, I believe that there has been discussion about this here on the board, here: http://www.thegodfathertrilogy.net/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=000992#000000

Welcome, by the way.

LoL, don't feel bad, man... I think everyone does that with their first post. I know I did... Posted something that I thought I was the first one to notice, and would interest everyone, only to find out it had already been discussed a hundred times!! For me, if I remember correctly, it was Genco (young Vito's consigliere) being in the background at the Sonny/Carlo beating scene. You're going to be very impressed with the amount of GF-related knowledge some of these people have.

But anyways... As far as the "ghost image", I read a thing where Francis Ford Coppola was interviewed and asked about that, and he said he was never aware of it. I don't believe that for a minute. He must have noticed, and left it in just to mess with people.

I think it's just a camera trick. I think it's Mama Corleone's face reflected in the camera somehow.

Now something really spooky is the kid in the window in Three Men and a Baby.

That is real.

Dude! I heard that it was actually the ghost of the kid who used to live in that apartment! My friend's cousin knows the guy who owns that building, and he said the kid ate pop rocks and soda, and his stomach exploded, and killed him!

I believed you up until the Pop Rocks and soda thing. That's an urban legend if I ever heard one.
