Tough call, but I'll go with Goodfellas

There are a few movies, that I think yu have forgotten:

Who's that Knocking at my Door
The Aviator
Gangs of New York
Boxcar Bertha
The Color of Money

I personally, vote for Raging Bull also, but, its hard to mention Scorsese's greatest films and not mention some of these.

Nobody would vote for these movies as Scorsese's absolute best. No way.

Would you say the same about someone who thought Who's that Knocking at my Door was his best?

I was literally torn between Raging Bull and Goodfellas but when I took personal enjoyment into account, I decided to go ahead with Goodfellas

Wouldn't that make it your favorite rather then his best?

His greatest film: Raging Bull

My personal favorite: Taxi Driver

Well like I said I was torn so I just picked 1. I was leaning more towards Raging Bull but towards the end I went with Goodfellas

I put Goodfellas, as it's my personal fav, but it's tough to pick between that and Raging Bull.

Well, I vote Raging Bull because it's deffinately Scorsese's masterpeice, and a bigger cinematic achievement than anyother film he's done.

However, Taxi Driver is coming in a close second, with Goodfellas and Mean Streets tied up in third.

Hey, now that I actually go through the poll, you just listed all of the films he did with De Niro, except for New York, New York. (I'm not laughing at you, I'm just laughing because it's stereotypical of this site...)

By the way, how was the King of Comedy? It's the only Scorsese-De Niro joint project I haven't seen yet.

Too hard to choose just one. If I gotta pick one it has to be Taxi Driver...Raging Bull is propably the better directed movie though....

With a nod to Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, which are both masterpieces, I have to be in the minority here and say it was King of Comedy. I will give the reasons in a lengthy boring post if you all demand it.

No, I demand. That's the problem with all of these Movie Deathmatch and such threads. We need discussion. I can't tell you how angry I get when someone dismisses a movie as "stupid" or "boring" with no further explanation.

These Scorsese films are ones I have yet to see. Later I will write out explanations for the ones I did see.

I didn't really like 'King of Comedy' ... despite DeNiro's hilarious portrayal of Pipkin or whatever his name was, it just too wierd of a movie for me.

If I recall correctly, Scorsese himself even appears to be embarrassed by it, per his comments in the TCM documentary on his films.

Goodfellas.

I woke up this morning with nothing to do and went to bed with only half of it done.
