Hey, there is no doubt that all of you reading this are fans of the GF Trilogy. But in a recent thread we are wondering how many of you have actaully read the book as well. This is just for statisical purposes to give up a rough indication of those of you that have.

I read it a few years ago after I came across the movies. I enjoyed it as much as the movies. It is definitely a good companion to the movies and will help you get a better feel for the Corleone family an d their history.

I may need to revist this book soon... I think I am going to watch part 1 tonight and finish the trilogy this weekend - using the commentary on scenes I want to learn more about, ie., shooting, direction, acting, as well as plot description... then I will re-read the book.

I need to freshen up on all the small details from the trilogy that I have forgotten, or don't understand, because when you watch the movies, you always catch up on something different.

I read the book about half a year ago and it was great. It amazed me how well they adapted the book to movie. I am forever shaped by the movie and it's imagry however and can't get a grip on how much of the book influenced the movie in terms of imagry and how much was actually thought up by FFC.

Yup, I read it before I watched the movie.

I've read it many, many times. Although it's been rightly criticized for wandering off in silly and tiresome ways (Dr. Jules and Lucy, for example), it nevertheless is an excellent book.
