To my shame, "Serpico" is on top of my list!

PS. Another one is The usual suspects (I'm going to watch it on Sunday, though)

I've never seen Life is Beautiful, but have always wanted to. I actually have it on VHS, but have never gotten around to watching it.

Lavinia!! See it. I love that movie. I prefer Al's older movies to the recent. If you don't know, that is based on a true story. Btw, I think Al looks great in it too. :p

Let me know what you think.

It's a strange movie. Touching, poetical. Great Roberto Benigni performance. Yet it copes with the Holocaust in a sort of surreal atmosphere it somehow irritated me. It is surely worth watching, though. Just watch it and then I'd like you to tell me what your thoughts are

I still wanna see the film Salo, just so I can say I've seen it. I heard it is among the most graphic films ever created. I remember someone mentioning it on here a while back, and since then I haven't been able to find it. IMDb's description of the film is as follows:

Set in the Nazi-controlled, northern Italian state of Salo in 1944, four dignitaries round up sixteen perfect specimens of youth and take them together with guards, servants and studs to a palace near Marzabotto. In addition, there are four middle-aged women: three of whom recount arousing stories whilst the fourth accompanies on the piano. The story is largely taken up with their recounting the stories of Dante and De Sade: the Circle of Manias, the Circle of Shit and the Circle of Blood. Following this, the youths are executed whilst each libertine takes his turn as voyeur.

Just reading that makes me feel kinda nauseous. But it's one of those films you wanna see for the same reasons you wanted to see The Texas Chainsaw Massacre when it first came out.

I've been trying to watch Dancer in the dark and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and although I've them right here on the pile of the movies to watch I've decided to watch something else. I'm not sure if I like these movies. The usual suspects and Serpico are great movies, I'm sure you would enjoy them Lavinia.

I have over 90 films in my room unwatched. Some I've had for close to two years. A film library untouched; heaven.

Too many films to name. Many foreign, many old, many on Criterion, or many hard to buy, or not able to be bought now.

Berlin Alexanderplatz, Satantango, Germany Year 90 Nine Zero, France/tour/detour/deux/enfants, Six fois deux/Sur et sous la communication, A Married Woman, and If....

Plus many more Godard and Bunuel films (though I just downloaded a subtitled copy of my most desired Bunuel film, The Exterminating Angel).

I, in fact, watched this film today. It is absolutely horrible. I can't recommend Pasolini's earlier film The Gospel According to St. Matthew enough (I rank it in the top 15 films ever made), but Salo is exactly the opposite, both in content and quality.

Why do you want to waste your time on a movie like that ? It's disgusting. If you want to watch a bit of Pasolini's cinema, try to find "Accattone" (could be difficult, though). It's worthwhile, I guarantee it.

I watched "The usual suspects" yesterday. I LOVED it! What an ending!!

And Kevin Spacey is absolutely great! What a superb actor, with that ordinary man face!. I liked also Chazz Palminteri's performance. BTW, what about him? Never heard of him lately.

Yeah, Kevin Spacy was great. I also liked Gabriel Byrne here very much. I've not seen any movie lately with Chazz Palminteri's except for Analyze this.

I'll confess you I got a kick out of Gabriel Byrne MANY years ago, when he played Cristoforo Colombo in a most successful TV mini series. He was so sexy in those XV century clothes....
