Insomnia is one of the best remakes I've seen within the last several years. It's excellent.

Any Given Sunday is a great movie, dispite people hating it for the MTV feel, which makes it all the more realistic.

Author Author : We see the humorous side of Pacino, who is left to bring up kids left to him from several different marriages/relationships while trying to write a hit broadway play at the same time.

Two Bits : 12-year old Gennaro lives with his widowed mom ( Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) and his ailing grandpa ( Pacino ), who sits outside holding tight to his last quarter, which he's promised to Gennaro and which Gennaro would like to have to buy a ticket to the plush new movie theater. But grandpa's not ready to pass on the quarter or pass on to his final reward: he has some unfinished business with a woman from his past, and he enlists Gennaro to act as his emissary.

If you are a true Pacino fan, you will enjoy both of these movies.

I havent seen Revolution, but it has been labeled as his worst film and is the reason Pacino disappeared from the big screen until 1989. Revolution came out in 1985.

I have seen Author, Author (light comedy, but not a real hit); Revolution, which actually I hadn't heard of until I saw it in the video store. I only rented it because Pacino was in it. I know it got bad reviews, and although I can't say I loved it, it wasn't as bad as many say.

I did like Insomnia, but in my opinion, his earliest movies are his best movies. Not a reflection on his acting but more on the roles he plays I guess.

Ive only seen Author! Author! (a somewhat entertaining, yet somewhat stupid movie) and Insomnia (A highly recomended remake)out of your list, but you should not listen to any of us freaks here and see them for yourself.

I've seen the first ten minutes of Insomnia (2002), and definitely want to see it all, if only to rip it apart in comparison with the original.

It's worth noting that Pacino directed and wrote Looking For Richard (1996), which follows Pacino's attempt to adapt Shakespeare's Richard III to the big screen (even though it's been done before).

He hasn't put in as good a performance since Donnie Brasco (1997), as far as I'm concerned. Although some say his turn in Insonmnia is great, from what I've seen it is laughable.

You really should see Insomnia. It is at least on the same level as Donnie Brasco.

Capo, I'm surprised. :p I thought Pacino's performance in Insomnia was great, as the rest of the movie is. Nolan's directing realy puts you into the protagonist like he did in Memento.
