January 10, 2024 — The last of the OG mafia powers in Milwaukee, reputed Balistrieri crime family boss, Peter (Pitch) Picciurro, died of natural causes last week at 94. He owned Pitch’s Lounge and Miss Katie’s Diner and was a beloved figure in the Brew Town community.

Picciurro was a capo under Frank Balistrieri and rose to be consigliere and then boss of what was left of the crime family in the era after Balistrieri’s death. Today, the mafia in Milwaukee operates as a sub-unit of the Chicago Outfit.

No I know he actually died and this was from gangster report but what I was talking about was him being Boss Consigliere Captain and even a member. All that is from Wikipedia and I don't know where it started but no legitimate source has ever called him a member as far as I'm aware.

Imagine creating a career where you write current news about an organization nearing extinction outside of NYC. All of these historic blogs probably generate clicks - NYMafia and others - I subscribe to that. Scott picked up the Gagliano wiretap from reading this board (same day, same post). Guy just needs clicks - I think he's going to get sued eventually and the schtick ends. This old man was a bookie in the 1960s, not a current mob boss - if that was my relative, I'd have a lawyer sending a cease and desist.

Where did this bullshit come from? Even if he wasn't, there has to be something that made people think he was. There's a current picture of him holding a coffee mug with a message on it bragging how he made it to 90 with no prison time. Great for him but I'd say he was probably involved in stuff way past the 1960s.

any present day criminal activity in milwaukee looks to be divided between black, hispanic and asian street gangs. gangster disciples, vice lords w/ connections to sets in chicago. latin kings and a very active hmong crime element involved in some gambling and high level marijuana sales. the info on hmong (gran torino fame) comes from a 2011 indictment.

I agree Vito, no LCN in Milwaukee as far as we can tell. Nobody's really interested in those other gangs you mentioned they want so bad for the mob to still be running the crime world.

Milwaukee has been under the Outfits control for years. Its also common knowledge that the Outlaws and the Outfit work together when it comes to rackets in Southern Wisconsin.

Rush you gotta sharpen that knowledge and stop believing the myths. The only Outfit guys who have any affiliations to bikers are Cicero - and they don't fuck with Wisconsin. They fuck with NW Indiana - because Wisconsin is where Elmwood Park guys live. I doubt any bookmaker in Milwaukee is worried about having to pay a 'tax' or else a big guy shows up at their doorstep - those days are long long fucking gone.

Today, the only action the Outfit has in other cities in voluntary - bookies in Milwaukee want to lay off action to larger books and those are mostly in Chicago. Maybe an independent bookie or loanshark needs some muscle or somewhere to launder funds and they pay Chicago for that access - but this is no longer about the Outfit 'owning' anything. The Outfit is a pure money making operation these days - they don't want to own anything or 'expand their presence.' They consolidated for a reason - to enhance the profit margins for those in the cliq - they aren't going back to the way they were.
