As part of a ridiculous defense strategy, when Colombo acting boss Thomas Gioeli and his guys were all rounded up on racketeering charges, he instructed them all to dress like bums and basically try their best to not look the part. However, the books were still thrown at them and the jury didn't buy it. My point is, no point in looking like slobs, absolutely no justification whatsoever. All that "they need to look low-key" crap is completely pointless.

Kinda reminds me of mobsters from the 1970s and 80s hiding their faces from the cameras, like your mugshots are already on TV and in the papers! What's the fucking point? And before we try to use John Gotti as an example, let's remember that Gotti was convicted for telling his entire criminal life story on tape, NOT for dressing nice. He could've showed up to court in a bathrobe, the verdict would've still been the same. On the other hand, his son went to several trials dressed really sharp and they all ended badly for the government.

Its all about contacts, meaning the whole situation has nothing to do with how these guys dress. Its stupid.

No Rush, I'm not suggesting that at all. I'm just saying that there's no point in humiliating yourself and going clean out of your way to look like a bum. Oversized t-shirts, baggy ass basketball shorts, and flip-flops should be a no-no.

Agreed. But unfortunately some mobsters are fuckin trash. Having the stereotype that all mobsters dress well in dress clothing (polos, nice trousers, or suits) is what it is, a myth.

These guys will never ever understand or value being clean cut and dressing nicely. They are in the same category as a mulignan or trailer park white trash. If you go to the neighborhoods that some of these guys come from and live in, people walk around the streets in fuckin pajamas and have bad hygiene. A disgrace.
