Some of you may have gotten a lot of shit over your interest in the Mafia, many of it from rap fans. The irony is that many rappers have their lips wrapped so tight around the mob's cocks that they name themselves after them, and many albums and songs are influenced by that lifestyle and make several mob references throughout their music. And not just mobsters, even bank robbers and outlaws in general.
Examples: Irv Gotti, Yo Gotti, Lil Gotti Gambino, Lucky Luciano, Dillinger and Capone, Machine Gun Kelly, the list goes on and on. Oh and then there was a whole record label called Murder Inc. Any other examples?

I believe members of the Wu Tang Clan were about to put out one of their early albums that was titled "Wu Gambinos." Some gambino members got word and told them not to title the album that. Allegedly.

It was about Raekwon's debut album. Their manager Steve Rifkind got the message, his father was connected.

Yep a friend of mine who was really into hiphop at the time gave me a copy. With its emphasis on American Mafia insinuations and organized crime, the album is widely regarded as a pioneer of the mafioso rap subgenre.

I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with it, I mean I don't give a fuck. But don't judge our interest and fascination with it when it has had a HUGE impact and influence on a music genre and other areas of pop culture that you like. That's my point. Kinda reminds me of those "fuck Tupac" people, meanwhile their favorite rappers is all over Tupac's nuts and regard him as their favorite rapper. I actually know someone like that. Hates Tupac but loves UGK, when UGK is a huge fan of Tupac themselves and influenced by him.

Geto Boys were great, Spice 1 is awesome. Oh and 8-Ball & MJG. There's this one group out of Flint, Michigan called the Dayton Family, very hardcore rap group they'd make today's rappers pee their panties.
