I just came across this article and I was wondering what happend with this case.
It says that the feds dropped the murder charges and that Tortora was released.

Check out this article from lohud:

How a reputed Yonkers mobster got out from under murder charge

These rats and snitches have been making a lot of mistakes here lately. I've been saying that one day the time will come when juries won't care to hear what they have to say. Looks like they're either gonna have to stand up and do their time or find another profession.

Yea that’s what it seems like. This seemed to be such a big case in Yonkers. When I google his name (John Tortora of Yonkers) I seem to see a lot on another John Tortora. I wonder if they are father and son.
Either way I am glad he got the charges dropped. The government is the real “organized crime” they are the ones engaging is racketeering.

If Tortora or any other mafioso were in the government, they would do exactly the same thing. Just because a criminal isn't a member of the government, he doesn't become any less of a scumbag. Idealizing wiseguys is quite a naive approach.

I think organized crime is a necessary evil, as it adds balance. Without it, you're just left with an oppressive government with nothing to counter it, and to me that's scarier. Also, please step down from your moral high horse, if we wanted a sermon we'd go to church. We don't need people preaching to us, and there's plenty of pro-government cop-loving bootlicking pages you can join. Also, we don't idolize criminals, we just don't see the difference.

Now I'll bow out and allow the rest of the community tear you apart.

Grow up. I never said the government were any better than your beloved mafia.

I am just so confused why, the government and the Yonkers police can just lock someone up when they had someone in custody for the murder, who also admitted to the murder or being part of it. I read somewhere that some rat “francomano” also admitted to having something to do with the murder. So after 20 plus years, all of the sudden they charge someone new, calling it a “solved”cold case? They locked Tortora up for nearly 2 years, disrupting his and his families life with zero evidence. Makes no sense to me. Maybe I am missing something.

Exactly it doesn't make any sense. Witnesses who heard Francomano brag about the murder over the years said he never mentioned Tortora before now. He's just another snitch looking to buy his way out with someone else's life.

The only reason Iam Curious about this case is because I was born in Yonkers but moved out in the mid 90’s. I was definitely too young to understand anything about the mafia. I found this on the internet about the case, I had to subscribe to get access hopefully you can open it.
Is this site “gangland news” a credible source ?

I also found a lot of stuff on google about who I think may be Tortora’s Father John Tortora SR. From what I’ve read He seemed to be someone you didn’t mess around with. Lol sorry if I am just blabbing, I am off this week because of the weather and have nothing but time on my hands.
