That work published in the 1880's by a German & translated by a very biased Greek-American anthropologist (if he can truly be granted the title) from California is a joke. Dienekes is very heavily biased in all of his work as an anthropologist (I'm not sure of his qualifications as a professional anthropologist as I've seen him shamed by intellectual laymen on certain forums I'm a member of), something his inspiration, & predecessor, Coon, wasn't. Racial Reality as a website has a heavy Mediterranean bias, it is mainly focused on 'refuting' what they consider to be 'myths.' Only Mediterranean subraces are covered through that site & the information from either Coon's Races of Europe or Origin of Races is misquoted to whitewash Mediterraneans. Coon covered unfathomable ground, but much of his work has been proven false & incongrous by some modern DNA studies & new genetic technology.

Life is governed by perception. You can either choose to base your opinions & perceptions on reality, or on your personal fantasies & biases. Italians are much closer to Iberians (the Spanish, Portuguese & Andulsians), than they are to Greeks. For certain closer to any country in Western Europe (culturally & for the most part genetically) than they are to the Eastern European, Hellenic, Greeks. What similarities would you say Greeks & Italians share to make their culture similiar?

Hey people, I haven't posted here for a long time, and when I saw this thread I thought it was time to come back. I'm Greek, and one of the fewer ones that are not at all olive skinned but pale. But people still think I'm Italian a lot of the time, maybe it's the curly hair, I don't really know. I don't really see how people think the two cultures act exactly the same, they have their similarites for sure, but I can generally pick a Greek from an Italian, that's probably because I've grown up with both cultures my whole life though. Anyways, it's good to be back and posting. Liz.

I more than anyone, should be able to pick a greek out from an italian, but I can't! thus proving my theory that some blood lines in italy are greek and the roman influence on cyprus plays it's part etc...

very true, but it just backs up the case, my son First off don't call me son. Secondly, IT DOESN'T BACK UP YOUR CASE. Just because YOU can't do something it doesn't mean anything. I can't ski, does that mean that if I make a statement that NO ONE can ski that it backs up my case?
