That was neat, Joe Bonanno was a knight of Malta, which is wing of the Jesuits, wouldn’t be surprising if Saputo was as well. Also, I believe that the Saputo is Sicilian as well.

In Montreal since I was a kid, people always said that the Saputo are in the mafia or mafia linked. But, with time, it became racist to say that, because people in Quebec started to link every successful italian with the mafia.

It all started when the south became an independent kingdom under the Bourbons. The Bella Società Riformata ("riformata" means federation here) officially formed in 1820. In December of that year a group of men from the twelve neighborhoods in Naples met in the church of Santa Caterina in Formiello. During a solemn ceremony, an agreement was entered into about the emergence of a modern organization within the Camorra. The leader of Bella Società Riformata had to be a resident from Porta Capuana, a neighborhood of Naples that was not well known.

The evidence seems to show that the Bonano crime family owned 20% of one of the largest companies in Canada and one of the largest dairy company in the World.
No surprise to any Montrealer for if you ran a any sort of restaurant, confection stand, hotel, basically anything that sold cheese in Montreal, you bought Saputo cheese or suffer the consequences.
Don’t believe me? Pizza Hut Corp actually closed a store in the heart of the east end in the 80’s because they refused to use Saputo mozzarella. After being blown up 2 times, they eventually closed shop and high tailed out of town.

The question I ask is, does the Bonano family still own some of Saputo still? Saputo is a public company but only 40%. The rest is still owned privately.
How shareholders of Saputo inc will act will certainly be interesting

The Rizzuto probably and they are probably under the Bonanno flag.

The Bonanno name itself is considered Black Nobility, in Rome, Sicily and the Church, meaning descendants from Caesar.

If Joe Bonanno’s family does have shares or ownership, the Black Noble Blood auspices, as well as being a Knight of Malta, would probably prevent evidence from ever being found. If it is found, then probably prevented from being presented.

The Charbonneau Commission essentially proved nothing, this could end very similar for those involved.
