I thought it was Gotti that went with Neil. And Montiglio was in the window with a powerful military rifle semi or full auto. You'd figure if he was trusted with protecting Costellano, he would've gotten proposed or brought in closer to Paul. But, everyone knows Paul and Nino were greedy and didn't give much in return. Or did Nino have someone else in the window and Montiglio knew knew of the story. In regards to the op, those guys are sneaky and they know how cunning the other guy could be, so there were a lot of meetings where guys were waiting close by. He may be not telling the truth but Montiglio has said before that Paul Castellano wanted to make Montiglio and put him as his driver but Nino didn't want that to happen because he wanted Montiglio to stay under him. If here were to get made he would have been out from Nino's shadow. After all of this went down is supposedly when Montiglio got mad and went to live in California.
