Hi, this is my 1st post here. Huge fan of the trilogy and bla bla bla...

Anyway, my question is this: Has the restaurant scene where Michael kills Sollozo and McCluskey ever been translated into English? After Sollozo says, "I'm going to speak Italian to Mike" I can pretty much make out the gist of what he's saying, but I have been looking for a complete, accurate translation. Or, if there are any Italian speakers on the board, maybe you could help out? Thanks.

Yeah its a tad strange seeing other parts of the film are translated from Italian to English but this scene is not.

Actually it could be because in GFII, when Young Vito is talking to Fannuci no translation was showing up but then I toggled the Subtitles & on 7/8 or 8/8 the subtitles for that scene shown up. I thought they were automatically meant to come up but they didnt, you might have to do this for this particular scene.

It's on page 150 in the novel.

Welcome to the boards, Mickey.

You can find a good translation to this scene on the boards' parent site GODFATHER TRANSCRIPT .

Click on the link (above), and about ½ down that page you'll see that scene loosely translated into English.

Why does it translate to Michael not having respect for Sollonzo? Sollonzo's the one who told McClusky he was going to speak in Italian to Michael.

I read somewhere that Michael says something like "que voy" in that scene, which translates to "what's going on". I think basically, he's ingoring Merle's request for a drink and asking Connie what's up.

I could be wrong, though.

that might have been che vuoi, but that means what do you want, and it's not even usually used that way, usually it would be said "cosa vuoi" but I don't know, it might be that anyway.
