Fictional history. Barzini was born Barrese as Vito was born Andolini. Was it in the book? I can't remember, but was wondering about the surname change too, what on earth could have been the reason. Thanks for the information. But still, even if he was born Barrese, still if he mostly went by Barzini in the original, why didn't the translators let it be, they didn't change Vito Corleone to Andolini as his American name after all, otherwise there would be Sonny, Fredo and Michael Andolini too.
