I just realized some of us have been around here a looong time.

Made me also realize I miss a lot of the old gang that used to hang out here....

Friends like Dr. Jules - who was as serious about his Rams as he was about paying up his debts. What a thrill it was to be home sick one day and see him on a re-run of Jeopardy (He was a bona-fide 5 time champion). That was a fateful day in a good way! I'm sure I speak for others when I say...We miss you!

Don Illuminati - from Baton Rouge where I have relatives.

And others I remember enjoying their posts: Liz Skywalker, Vendetta (from Texas), Don Noledge, Daniel Corleone (from Chicago) and the ORIGINAL Sonny's Girl. I miss your posts!

And last but certainly not least - Don Cardi. On September 11, 2001 - this whole board held cyber hands together as we watched the WTC tragedy unfold and shared personal experiences from all around the nation. Don Cardi wrote at length and from his heart about his personal involvement that day and loved ones he lost. He always apologized profusely for his lengthy posts but many of us savored every word. For some reason I was thinking of him today and I hope that he is healthy and happy whereever he is.

How about it old-timers? Remember the old days? Are we having a reunion in 10 or 20 years like high school?

I have a tendency to wear my heart on my sleeve -
I have a history of taking off my shirt.....

I wish I could have known these people. How long ago are we talking? All from 2001?

And you liar, teller of tall tales: you trample all the Lord's commandments underfoot, you murder, steal, commit adultery, and afterward break into tears, beat your breast, take down your guitar and turn sin into a song. Shrewd devil, you know very well that God pardons singers no matter what they do, because he can simply die for a song.

Wow. That brought back a lot of memories. Liz Skywalker was one of the great posters, as well as Don Cardi. I wonder where these people are right now. I joined two months after the 9/11 tragedy, but I remember going back and reading some of the old posts soon after the actual event happened. How many of the "Class of 2001" are still on the board?

Yeah, I came Oct 2001, but I read alot before I actually joined. I cant believe its almost 2 years now. I look at the number of people on the board now and I see 2073 people, and I was the 518 member to join. At the time I felt so new but now...2073 people. This place has really gotton big, of course alot of people signed up dont post often. Like me kind of. Ive been here almost 2 years and have 325 posts...oh well, this people here are really nice and I really enjoy discussing different things here.

I buy you out. You don't buy me out.

There aren't too many left here from the real "early days"....Turi, Luca Brasi, Uztopoke, Don Sicilia, Beth E., Don Michel, Geoff and myself round out the first 100 members who still post reguarly.

Guys and gals like Sonny on the Causeway, Sonny's Girl, Don Rico, Don Thomas, Sonny, Ken Corleone, Johnny C., Dr. Jules Segal, Enzo the Baker, Piers Archer and Vendetta visit rarely, if at all.

BTW - I spoke to Don Cardi some time back, and he was doing fine.

I remember Don Provalone- he was a great poster, very intelligient and thought-provoking. He was also the one to start those great picture-caption threads (and usually came up with the best ones- I still love the "air-guitar" one.)

Don't know if you guys are interested, but I emailed Irishman12 last month. He says he has recently moved, and has not had a chance to get on the Internet. He hopes to be on some time soon, but rarely gets the chance to check into here. Nice to hear from him, though.

Yes, I wonder what happened to Wiseguy 1872. He and Don Provolone were both great posters.

2 stars? Turi uses them as "pasties" and if worse comes to worse, he can always make money as an exotic dancer........
