There's something that's quite confusing to me and I hope some more informed members can help me with this..

Why is it that certain families like DeCavs, Philly and New England get the OK from New York to make new men and other families not like Buffalo?

Even though they have more than enough associates from Italian descent as I've seen in a latest chart..

I'm not aware of New England needing approval from New York, unless you're referring to Springfield which is part of the Genovese.

True enough in the past. But New York has enough problems without having to worry about twenty and thirty member families these days.

I'm not citing any specific smaller families because the local fanboys tend to get bent out of shape. But I wouldn't put much stock in a chart listing long declining or defunct families as being beefed up in this day and age.

Philly and the DeCavs are one thing. But that's because of their proximity to New York. But the pinches they're taking lately, especially the Decavs, are moronic. That alone should tell you where they're headed.

Detroit and Chicago are smaller but more stable. But their working relationships with New York have been few and far between since the Teamsters were put under Federal control and the big corporations took over Las Vegas.

And I fully realize that the Teamsters were recently deregulated. But take it from a guy who gave them 25 years of his life. Hoffa Junior's babysitters are worse than the Feds. He hates wiseguys with a vengeance. They have a local here and there. But they'll never have the nationwide influence that they once had.

The new England guys share all the same federal prisons as the NYC guys there kinda like a satellite. When there on the street they reach out to the NYC guys they were in prison with and pass along the message. But I would doubt they ask for permission to make new guys and with after the gambino guy nicky skins taping every family up the east coast probaly makes shit different. I was thinking with Facebook prisoners must be keeping in touch with former friends alot more then back in the day when you get released and never see them again. Very close, Dom. They each owned a lot of hunting country, in Ohio and Pennsylvania for Tronolone, and up in Rhinebeck and into parts of Massachusetts for Tony. They spent a lot of time with each other on their respective properties. Street guys but simple farmers at heart. Hard to fathom, but a lot of the old timers were like that.

Is it Accurate that in the 40s- 80s that the Outfit had to approve bosses and even in some cases making guys in families like, Milwaukee, KC, Dallas, LA? Idk if it was Fratianos book or Russos book but I thought I read those families west of Cleveland ultimately answered to Chicago..but never got concrete confirmation that this was in fact the case?

Also thought I read outfit didnt control Detroit since they were a pretty powerful fam in their own right with Zerilli having a seat on the Commission?

The Outfit controlled the midwest and west coast families but not Detroit. Both Chicago and the Genovese had influence in Cleveland.
